September 19, 2009 - Registration extended until Aug. 30th.
"Scholarship Showcase 1000"
North Carolina Music Network is seeking worthy recipient to receive a $1000.00 cash scholarship. On September 19th at Edgecombe Community College, Tarboro, N.C., McIntyre Auditorium, six performers will be chosen to the participate in the final "Scholarship Showcase 1000 " -- January 30, 2010.

Criteria
NCMN will be accepting-
1. Solo, Duo, Trio and Quartet performances, any style music genre.
2. Participants who use quality sound tracks, favorite instrument, or sing Capella.
3. Participants of any age, however if under the age of 16, must be accompanied parent or guardian.
4. Participants who are willing to abide by NCMN rules of congeniality.
*Please Note- Song of choice must be approved upon sign up, due to override.

Registration fee requirements:
NCMN "Artist Listings" current and in good standing- $15.00
Not Listed or not current-$25.00
*Please Note- NCMN will accept $50.00 sponsorship as registration fee.
*Sponsorships listed in program and on NCMN website for duration.

Judging Criteria
All performances will be judged on vocal ability, stage presentation, performance ability, showmanship, audience response, professionalism and general personal appeal.
* An opportunity for extra points - one point per show ticket sold may be added to your final score.
*Please Note-self-accompaniment or the use of original song material is permissible, however, it will not warrant extra points.
*Please Note-As September 19th performances will be a one shot deal one song deal, so please be prepared to present the very best of your performance capabilities.
*SORRY GANG-dress code required. On stage, no T-shirts, shorts, old tennis shoes, etc., dress professional-as we are looking for a higher standard of talent to promote.
Additional Information
Scholarship Showcase 1000 in an in-hand cash award; monies may be used for the production of a musical CD, informal music lessons, the purchase of musical instruments, sound systems, etc. or may be used toward a formal college education in the field of music.
*NOTE: Should you be chosen as one of the six finalists, a 100 word essay on why you would like to be chosen, and what you would assume to do with the winnings, essay submitted will give you a three-point advantage on your final score in January, and for both performances every show ticket you sell an extra one point.
