From Me To You

Dear Independent Music Artists,

I hope you have been working hard to gain the expertise that you'll need when your time comes to be seen and heard. Everyday I am discovering more and more talented independent artists, but I'm amazed to discover how little most really know about the music business. It frightens me to see the lack of knowledge when understanding the business is key in knowing where to go next.

Music is not a sweepstakes, it is a very complex thing. If you want to survive and get to the majors, you will have to understand how the business works.

The purpose of the NCMN is to help you reach a better understanding of the music business by creating an avenue for us to share information with each other. I wish all of you the best of luck in reaching your goals. Let me hear from you if you have questions and I'll do my best to answer. Your question may even be selected to be published in this newsletter.

Under the Spotlight

THE SAND BAND...

I don't do a lot of "Party Hopping", however, Saturday night up in North Hampton County, I stumbled across by invitation what was for me a well kept secret in the world of "Beach Music."  That big band blast that all partiers love to dance to shook the rafters of the Lions Club.  A sound so perfectly balanced (I looked around for the sound man but could not find him.)  I was blown away. Every beach music song I ever heard was being played and sung by the musicians themselves, in perfect harmony. A sound so big that at 11:00 the next morning my ears were still ringing, reminding me how good they were. If you are in need of a "Beach Music Party Band" send a message via our E-mail, or PO Box, and we will get back to  you....THE SAND BAND.

Amanda Rudd…sited for high scores “Day of Music” April 26, 2008

Amanda Rudd took the stage to sway the judges in her behalf. As the highest female scorer in the NCMN auditions she sang with the professionalism of a seasoned artist. Amanda’s good looks and dynamic charm won her the highest scores of the day. All three judges gave her a perfect score in “stage presence” and a near perfect score in “vocal ability.”  With a score of 27 out of 30 for “first impression she took the show. Congratulations Amanda Rudd.
